My take on MI2

Okay, by now everyone knows I am an M.I groupie so maybe I am biased ( I highly doubt). I am not a music critic or a music connoisseur. I just happen to like music and have an opinion and that is exactly what this is. Since this album dropped it has been divided into two - Those that like it and Those that don't, which is expected, regardless of what he brought out, it would have been the same thing. It seems that for those that don't the main complaint is that, it doesn't compare to Talk about it or Illegal Music. Should an album be judged as a stand alone or in comparison to previous work? I have no clue, I leave that to the experts. I have to say that I don't take my music seriously. When I say that I mean that, I will give everything a chance. I won't dismiss a song because Miley Cyrus sang it so it is automatically crap. I don't care if you write your songs, I don't care if you play instruments,I don't have to relate to the subject matter for it to be a good or bad song - shoo if that was the case that would eliminate every love song- I don't think "conscious artists" are automatically better because their songs are serious. I try to judge each song individually on its own.

My verdict on this album is that, this is a solid album.

You know how when you meet someone, you make a first impression which might be wrong. You get to know the person and then you understand them a bit more. That's how I would describe this album. At first listen, I called it commercial but listening some more, I wouldn't call it that. There really are no club bangers on this album besides Action Film and maybe No one curse. I listened to this album, a couple more times and I decided MI went playful with this album. Not playful as in not taking it seriously but not just as serious/uptight as his first album. It's the reason why a serious message was put in "My Head My Belle" or why "Beef" didn't have as angry a tone as a beef record should have. I also called the album Drake-ish, because it had elements of Drake's punch line (Man I clean up ya mouth, toothpick or When I'm living by the bay, Takwa) but I remember I said that the world is too old not to have similarities and almost every rapper raps like that now, but I revert back to his old albums and MI has always been a master at wordplay. He has clever lines on this album that bring a smile to my face.

The Pros: I like the whole vibe of the album. I like the variety of rap styles he shows us. Listen to Number One, Slow Down and No One Curse back to back and see how different each style was. I like the family vibe, how he incorporates his choc city boys on (OMG, Brymo better not fall my hand on his album, the man's voice is ridunculous). Wild Wild West he sends a shout out to his homeland, Represent sends a shout out from the choc family and Unstoppable shows us how he met each of his fellow Choc brothers. I like how he had a balance of no name guest artists and famous guest artists he introduced me to Naija's john legend aka Praise who absolutely killed Epic. I heard about Waje, who I had never heard about before on One Naira. I liked the beats on every single song, even the songs overall that I thought weren't so good. I like that we have 18 songs on an album, I hate when artists have like 9 0r 10 songs and that's it.

The Cons: Ok, so everyone don complain tire about the skits. I now skip the skits because I am listening to the album over and over but in the beginning I won't lie I chuckled at the skits. I am probably in the minority that sees what his whole idea was. You know...MI2, the movie..to be fair each skit connected to the next song and made sense, at least to me, it was reminiscent of Kanye's College Dropout. He saved naija hip hop or rather brought it to the limelight, had a great year but still went through times of naysayers etc. Now one skit that should be removed and not to be heard of again is the skit after One Naira. Geez Louise, that skit was awful and annoying all at once plus I think the person who voiced Jesse inhaled helium or something. There was one too many, I am the greatest on this album. I have no problem tooting your own horn, heck his job is not easy and everyday I see people tooting their own horns in life and in social media but I hate when things are done in excess (like Nicki Minaj's british accent)but you know if he spoke about money, girls, cars or sex in excess, i'd still complain

I feel like I am blabbing so I will just summarize my thoughts on each song:

Action Film - I think this is my favorite song on the album. Brymo's voice, the beat and the overall fun nature of the song.

Slow Down - I like. Very chill, very mellow. Very grindable song. Did anyone else hear snippets of Oleku in it?

Number One - So, I am igbo and I usually don't like igbo songs. I didn't like this song at first but now I love it. I like how he tries to rhyme everything ending with an ah!. The highlife/hiphop fusion is kinda nice, don't think I have heard that from naija before. Can I mention, I like the way the beat changes when he says "they should switch to Makossa". I do wonder if any non igbo person would like this song. I have a friend who doesn't care for songs in Yoruba because she doesn't understand what they are saying. Sha this songs makes me wants to shake my waist, igbo style!

Anybody - Like I said, I like every single beat on this album, but this song overall just failed like a deflated balloon. I can't tell you what's wrong with this song but something just didn't connect.

Nobody - I think I am the only one who didn't hear this song earlier. I will say I am not a fan(indifferent)of Tuface but there's a reason why he is still standing compared to those who started with him -*stylplus *cough*. I feel like he held his own on this song. The song itself was a sincere song.

Beef - lol. biko who can tell me MI and Kelly Handsome's beef? I thought it was with Mo' Hits. I like the chorus and how it incorporated beef(kpomo you no chop, fish e no chop, goat e no chop, e say e want beef), he gave iceberg one line and everyone heard the Kelechukwu line. I laughed at "Why you mad at my flow, you be tampon?". The chorus did sound like a Don Jazzy chorus though.Oh and there's this beat that comes in at the beginning and at the end, i like that.

Wild Wild West - not one of my favs. Actually I skip it. I am not from Jos sha.

My Head, My Belle - So, I confess I don't like naija songs that are about naija problems and how we can fix it. Not one of my faves but I like the playfulness of it.

One Naira - Men everywhere are dying for this song, apparently we females are golddiggers. Anyways, nice song, nice voice. I'm just bothered by the part where she says "Mu na gi ga nwu garri", it sounds like she is pronouncing nwu wrong. But that's just my OCD.

Craze - I like am, not in top faves but I like am.

Undisputed - Jargo had to have produced this because it sounded like one of his songs. I like am.

Epic - I still haven't met anyone that doesn't like this song. I'm fucking Epic yall!

Imperfect me - Awesome song. This could be the soundtrack of my relationship with God. Give or take a lot of lyrics lol

Represent - I especially like the intro, where they told the girl to wake up because "film don finish", then my voice crush- Brymo comes on. I like

Unstoppable - The piano intro to this song gets me everytime. I loves it. Introspective song.

God Bless You - Soooo, I heard this song earlier in the year and STILL it hasn't grown on me. It's a beautiful song don't get me wrong, it just does nothing for me.

Somebody Wants to Die - Shet! this song go hard! This was one of the earlier released singles.

No One Curse - I hear this song and my head moves in repetitive fast motions all through. I love this song.

Overall. I like the album, it was different from the first two but MI didn't lose his essence. Let me know what y'all think. Do you like or hate the album?

Have a great week ahead!

Willow Smith

So unless you have been under a rock, you must have heard or seen Willow Smith's "Whip my hair" video. Yes, Smith as in the spawn of Will and Jada (Pinkett) Smith. Ok I confess that, I saw people referencing hair being whipped back and forth but I didn't pay it no mind. Then last week as I listened to the radio, I heard a song where the chorus was a repetitive chant of whipping her hair back and forth and I'm like "oooh, it's a song!" theeeeen I find out that it is Willow Smith's song and my first thought is "damn, the person singing sounds too grown to be a 9 year old". I heard she just signed with Jayz's label not too long ago, so I wasn't expecting a single so soon.

Anyways, I watched the video and I have to say it was very well done, very age appropriate and the song is a catchy song. Chic is like a miniature Rihanna so its all good in the hood. But as I watched the video, I couldn't help thinking this girl is 9!!. Like 9, yo! She has her own sense of style, she does interviews like a mini woman and seems so self assured. That's pretty young sha. Would I want my daughter to be thrust in the jaws of this fame scene at such a young age? Me I know its a resounding no!!I just feel there is plenty of time. Besides peaking early, especially in this day and age where careers don't last long (although she can fall back on acting). There are just some things you can't get back, like your childhood. Yes, she probably will be homeschooled but...I dunno maybe it's just me but I just really feel it is important to be a kid. Being grownup is not a beans, whether or not you have money, it just comes with its own wahala. Just wanted to point out that I am not hating on Willow in any way because she can actually sing and sounds waay older than her age, they were just thoughts I had as I watched the video.

What do you guys think?

Entourage

Entourage is a show that was conceived by Mark Wahlberg and is pseudo based on his life as he started in Hollywood. It's a show that's geared towards the male audience and is quite popular now since it debuted in 2004. I think of it as the male sex and the city and where girls try to identify what character they are in SATC, groups of guy friends try to assign which friend is to what character in Entourage. I am a fan of Entourage but I think it's time for the show to end.

I am a big believer in humans evolving and learning from life over the years and I just feel the characters are stuck in a rut and surely people that old can't still be that clueless. Besides E, the rest of them seem to be doing the same things over and over. Vince is still a pansy, dude doesn't even score as many chicks like he used to, Drama is still a whining drama queen, Turtle well I like Turtle but he is still the same and still their errand boy, Ari is still funny but is still yelling at everything. I should mention that i admit that I am usually turned off my older characters that don't learn from their mistakes, which is probably why I didn't like the movie, "It's complicated", I got turned off by "Weeds" ( I mean how long can a so called mother continue to be doe eyed and act all innocent while she is a drug dealer) and I might be headed there with "Californication". Let's even forget the evolving part, Entourage is just not as funny anymore, this season has been such a snoozefest, with the season premiere being the ultimate lullaby. And instead of dragging us through this painful downslope they should just end it.

I had this thought after watching the season premiere and even mentioned it to my friend and since then, they've decided the next season will be the last and then there will be a movie and I am in complete support of that! :)

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday, just thought I'd share.

Gbagaun!

Oh my word, I just like abandoned this blog sha. I really am sorry, I should never abandon my blog oh. I don't have much to say really let me do an off the wall post.

So if you have not heard Jesse Jagz, Jag of all trades, you are on a long ting oh, that album is hot and I have dubbed him the Kanye West of Naija. If you disagree, jump inside gutter. His songs are not the same yet he managed to make it flow in the album and it didnt sound all over the place. My faves are Wetin Dey, Intoxicated and L-O-V-E U, but the whole album is hot sha.

Don Jazzy is a beast in his domain.

I'm tired of hearing about Lindsay Lohan ugh

Ok I am done talking, watch this video.

">

Now watch it again and focus on the little boy and see how he lobbied. Hilarious.

RIP to the King of Pop

It's been a year already since he passed. I am not going to attempt to even write a tribute or say anything because it's all been said. Everyone knows of his awesomeness. May his soul rest in peace and may God grant comfort to his kids. Enjoy a few of his songs. What are some of your favorite M.J songs?

I'll be there

As you can see, a whoooole bunch of songs are missing. I can't sit here and tell you what my favorite Michael song is but everytime I listen to him it's like I am listening to him for the first time.

To Cross the Line or Not...

A fellow blogger spoke about this song on his blog and this is not the first time I am feeling Ms. Vivian Green's lyrics. I should take more notice of her song writing skills. It's pretty much a song about going from friends to lovers. Note I said song writing skills, because besides Emotional Rollercoaster, I can't say that I like any of her songs like that but I like reading the lyrics sha.

The skin against my skin
I'm begging to resist
I want to scream for more
I want to run out the door
The skin against my skin
The skin of my best friend
We never even kissed
So how'd we get to this?
He loves me oh so much
But he never shared his touch
As natural as it feels
I don't want it to kill
Something so flawless
That we both cherish
And as bad as I need it
We could ruin something so perfect

Can give to me just like...No cause we're perfect
Damn it feels so good to...No we're too perfect
Who made to rules, who drew the...Line shouldn't be crossed
What if it's the best thing
What if it's all lost
Can give to me just like...No cause we're perfect
Damn it feels so good to...No we're too perfect
Who made to rules, who drew the...Line shouldn't be crossed
What if it's the best thing
What if it's all lost

He thinks we'll be fine
Maybe create a stronger bond
But then he just a man and clearly I'm all women
When we get up to leave, tell me how it will be
And the next time I see you
Will you feel like a stranger?
Have we entering a danger zone?

Can give to me just like...No cause we're perfect
Damn it feels so good to...No we're too perfect
Who made to rules, who drew the...Line shouldn't be crossed
What if it's the best thing
What if it's all lost
Can give to me just like...No cause we're perfect
Damn it feels so good to...No we're too perfect
Who made to rules, who drew the...Line shouldn't be crossed
What if it's the best thing
What if it's all lost

What if we want more from each other?
What if we become only part-time lovers?
What if our drama-free friendship suffers?
What if everything we've built get lost under the covers?
Will I think it's the same the way you scream out my name
Thought it would ever come to this
Who'd thought I'd like your touch, your kiss
I don't wanna miss this opportunity, maybe we're suppose to be
Stop askin questions, and guessing and keep it going

Review, Previews and a Song.

Review...
So I took myself to go see Sex and the City 2 and was pleasantly surprised. I totally expected it to suck but surprise, surprise I liked it. I know my friends think I am a harsh critic when it comes to movies but I don't think I am that bad, the thing about movies also is you kinda have to know what you are expecting and the type of movie it is. Anyways, I digress. Well when the movie started I was nitpicking it and I think part of the reason was my expectation. I was groaning at the corny one liners and jokes and I dunno..their synergy just seemed forced. But after a while I relaxed and I remembered that SATC has always had the corny one liners/jokers. I have to say Samantha had the best lines in this movie and Kim Catrall's body was on point. Charlotte is still hella annoying and my Miranda(my fav character) is still same ol' Miranda. The girls were looking cute but I have to say it was a lil uncomfortable seeing the telltale signs of aging on their faces. I have never been a fan of BIG, but he was quite likeable in this movie, I really HATE that he calls her Kid(do), it really grates on my nerves.Oh and I kept wondering why he was overtanned. Liza Minnelli's version of "Single Ladies"(men, Beyonce is in the history books for life with this song and the video) was fun to watch. Anyone peep the Africans in the karaoke scene? Ok, I know this isn't much of a review but I am having a hard time thinking of how to review it without giving it away but I will try. SATC is a romantic comedy, for me VERY FEW rom coms come without corniness. Yes it lost it's way a few times and at first it felt like they weren't comfortable with each other but they each fell into place as time went on. I really liked how they balanced the lightness and the seriousness. Carrie's scene with Charlotte talking about her marriage to BIG was my favorite, as well as Charlotte and Miranda's scene - it just showed how we humans are never satisfied. It would have been nice for a little more insight into Miranda and Steve's life and how they coped after the cheating but I figure they wanted to focus on Carrie and Big. For people who are like me and think friendship is a big deal, I like how this was also emphasized in the movie. It's not a serious movie and don't expect to go in and get a perfect movie but overall I enjoyed it and thought it was good. Not well done but enjoyable none the less.

Previews...

Before the movie comes you must endure the previews:

KNIGHT AND DAY : Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. Two people I am not fans of. Looked like a cross between Mission Impossible and *insert any gbam gbam movie where the leads inevitably make out*..Doubt I will be seeing that. I have to say Tom Cruise is a charming man.

CHARLIE ST CLOUD : Zac Efron is such a cutie. Looks like he is branching out. A movie about a boy who is in an accident with his little brother, who gets killed.yada yada yada. Won't be watching.

EAT.PRAY.LOVE : Everyone must have heard about this. Movie with Julia Roberts about the true life story of a lady who travels to three countries to find herself and reconnect with the world when she gets tired of her dissatisfaction with life. I am currently reading the book, still unsure if I will see the movie.

GOING THE DISTANCE: Drew Barrymore and boyfriend, Justin Long star in a movie about two people who wanted to keep it light but end up falling for each other, except she had to move and they decide to have a long distance relationship ( and you know how that's taboo for Americans)

LIFE AS WE KNOW IT : Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel. Guy and girl that had a disastrous first date. They were both named by a couple to be God parents to their kids if they died - which they did. Cue in laughter.

And a song...
I don't really like this song, I just like it because of the intro. I like listening to Bruno Mars' voice.

Travie McCoy ft Bruno Mars - Billionaire

Who Dat??

Yes oh, it's 50cents. He lost a bunch of weight in 9 weeks for a movie he is doing when his character gets cancer. At first I thought he had secretly been battling HIV, he looks emaciated for real. I don't know how this stars do it sha, they should come and teach me. They lose weight and gain weight at will.

Oh thanks for whoever nominated me for "best music blog". I am not quite sure if it's for this blog or not but either way thanks.

Too Sexy or Not?

Ok before I post this video let me just say these kids are uber talented because what they did was not an easy something BUT let's not forget that they are 7 year olds. Do you think it is too sexy? On one hand, we can argue that they don't know what they are doing and are just dancing but I am sorry these girls seemed to be in touch with their sensuality way more than a 7 yr old should. So kiddos, what do y'all think, too sexy or not?

Hollywood TidBits

So apparently the list of cheaters continue to grow, the latest allegation (not confirmed) is Matt Lauer.

After 20 years, the original Law & Order is being taken off the air.

If you guys remember the white sister on Different Strokes - Dana Plato. She died of an overdose couple of years ago but tragically her 25 year old son just died from a self inflicted gun shot wound. May his soul rest in peace.

Sarah Silverman's show has been cancelled. Is this woman even funny or just crass?

Bombshell Mcgee says that "men are meant to spread their seed". No comment.

Krista won America's Top Model.

Big Mike got voted off American Idol.

If you remember Noemie Lenoir - she was the bald chick, Chris Rock was messing with in Rush Hour 3 and was the video girl in Usher's "Daddy's Home". She was found unconscious in a park from a suicide attempt. She took pills with alcohol. Wishing her speedy recovery.

So Chrisette Michelle cut her hair and it just seems to bring out her features, she looks very pretty.

Why I keep talking about this girl, I don't know but Heidi Montag from Hills fame has called a restraining order on her mom.

Kendra Wilkinson has a sex tape floating around.

That's all I got. I am signing you off with a gaga related video. It's been all over the net and he was on Ellen recently, this boy is just amazing. Have a good weekend!

Reality Show Rundown

No secret. I watch a lot of TV. I watch a lot of reality TV. Mindless, Useless, BrainCellKilling reality shows and I love 'em. I figured I'd try to list the reality TV shows that I watch. I wanted to list the ones that are currently on the air but there are so many more off the air so I'll just list what I can.

Tough Love/Tough Love Couples: BFF is in love with Steve Ward. I think he is overdoing it with Tough Love Couples but I enjoy this show.

Tool Academy: Bunch of dickheads who found a way to have humans who agreed to be their girlfriends.

Flavor of Love/I Love NewYork/Rock of Love/Real Chance of Love/Daisy's Love/For the Love of Rayj - Indeed if it has love and on Vh1. Taynement watched it.

Real Housewives of O.C/NewYork/NewJersey/Atlanta - The childiest grownups I have ever seen in O.C/NewYork/NewJersey/Atlanta. Turn your head and you'll be sure to catch a catfight.

Top Chef/Top Chef Masters: One of the few classy reality shows, never a dull moment and it's just fun.

Millionaire Matchmaker: Loved this show at first but I couldn't take any more of Patti Stanger. I am grateful she removed the bangs.

The Hills/The City: I can't help myself. Still wonder why I watch The City though. Whitney is arguably one of the most boring people on earth.

Sidebar: I should have done this by tv station. It'd have been much easier.

Real World : Yes, 100million seasons in and 98% of the world stopped watching after Vegas but I still watch.

Real World/Road Rules : Pure entertainment and they are kinda awesome. The things they do aren't for the weak.

True Life : Compelling show. I had an idea to do a show like that in college, I turned on my tv and there my idea was on MTV. C'est La Vie.

Making the Band: Each.and.every.season, I watched. I do like me some diddy sha.

I want to work for Diddy: Diddy is a fool the way he turns confident people into blubbering idiots and I am here to laugh at them.

College Hill: Sigh..I try to support my people but they just..sigh...

Miami Ink/LA Ink: Miami Ink has the most talented tattoo artists mayne. I still think the chic in LA ink is overrated, shadowing or not.

King of Cars: Ha! I watched this show about a car dealership owner in Vegas.

Jon&Kate plus 8: Man, I used to watch this show and even before the whole demise of Jon&Kate, I had to stop watching the show. It was painful the way she talked to him.

Dog the Bounty Hunter: I dont know why I used to watch.

Intervention: One of the most powerful shows on TV. Watching people with an addiction and watching their loved ones suffer is just deep.

Dr 90210: Dr Rey is kinda off his rockers, don't you think?

Keeping up with the Kardashians/the miami one: It has Kim K

Pretty Wild : this is one of the worst shows on tv.

Celebrity Fit Club: Fat Celebrities..oops they are usually run down celebs. either way still fun to watch *smirks*

Run's House: This show warms my heart.

Flipping out: The dude reminds me of a fish with his lips. That's all I think about as I watch.

Kimora Life in the Fab Lane: I still watch to see how she and Djimon are together. i am still puzzled.

American Idol: This season sucks.

Tori and Dean: They're cute.Sue me

Dancing with the stars: every season I start.every season I stop about 3 episodes in.

Survivor: One of the best reality shows out there.

Amazing Race: one of the best reality shows out there.

Kendra - She keeps it real and its fun to watch

Whatever Lisa Raye's show is called - very weird woman

Brandy and RayJ family affair: Interesting stuff.

Basketball Wives: It's like a sister show to real housewives. Childish Women Aplenty.

What Chilli Wants: Interesting stuff.

Bad Girls Club : Craziness!

Ciara - Ride

So I had a guy friend raving about this video, so I had to watch. I watched it and I have to say I was amused. First things first, Ciara is a bad ass dancer, as in she makes it look so effortless but lately in an effort to reclaim the success she had with her debut, the chic has been leaning heavily towards very sexy and suggestive song and videos which to me end up making her look silly because it is not translating in record sales. If you remember when she first started, she talked about not wanting to share her goodies, was covered up and that was a successful album for her. She started being suggestive with "Promise" which I thought was still tasteful, then Love, Sex and Magic and whatever else it started being like whoa chic, slow down. Well, same goes for this video, you guys watch and tell me what you think. Again, bad ass dancer, nice toned body(although if I had to pick a celeb body, I won't choose hers)but I think she needs to slow down on the suggestive sexy and focus on having a substantial career. What do y'all think? Watch and please leave your comments.

P.S - all she's a hater comments are welcome too lol

Hottest Woman Around

If you didn't know already, I have a crush on Christina Hendricks, I think she is just so...woman. And apparently a few others agree with me, she has just been voted Esquire's hottest woman around. Here she is:

In other magazine covers. I think Tasha Smith has a fab body:

Jennifer Hudson

This is inspiration. We might not have her money but as far as I know determination is free. I think she looks awesome.

Just because I can't think of a topic....

Here, there, everywhere and going nowhere...

Rumor has it that B is preggos. Wonder if it's true, if it is a big congrats to the couple. Children are a blessing.

WHo watches Real Housewives of NewYork? Besides the constant bickering and side-taking like they are in grade school. I think the Count(l)ess (Luann)is so pretentious it must be exhausting, Bethenny needs to tone down her "keeping it realness" and shut up a bit more, I think Jill looks really good, I thought she lost weight but then I remember that she had a breast reduction so maybe that's it.

Why is Justin Beiber this famous? Why does he have a "swag coach" that follows him everywhere. I think I am pissed because I think swag coach is code for "being blacker". I just may be over thinking this.

Dude, 16 and pregnant is a powerful show.

American Idol sucks this year. like major.

India Arie and DOnny Osmond got really pissy about Gaga's Telephone video huh?

And after season 7, The Hills will finally not be alive anymore. Took 'em that long to realise it.

So sad about Dennis Hopper. His is allegedly dying of cancer. He can barely speak and barely weighs 100lbs yet he is embroiled in a bitter divorce battle.sigh

Ok I swear The Office is one of the best shows you are not watching.

Ok my brain is dead...Fun weekend, kiddos

Artist Spotlight: Taio Cruz

Hiya guys, what's going on? I thought I'd spotlight an artist I've heard about since Summer 2009 in Naija - Taio Cruz. A young Brit man with Nigerian and Brazilian parents. *sidenote* I notice that entertainers I spotlight seem to be of Nigerian descent..hmm that's very fine by me. Anyways, I heard him feature on a song and I thought he was just a one time thing but he seems to have crossed over and currently has a song on the radio. Well let me not waste your time and here are three songs of his I kinda like:

Like a Star ft SugaBabes and Busta Ryhmes

Break your Heart ft Ludacris

Some of my Best and Worst dressed from the Oscars

Hi guys just stopping by, feel free to share your thoughts.
BEST DRESSED
I might not care much for the girl but I admit that I liked Miley Cyrus' dress.

I didn't care much for the David's Bridal material but overall I think she looked really good. Dress (or the spanx) gave her a nice silhouette.

WHen I first saw the dress on screen I was like what the hell? But I looked well and I usually hate white on the red carpet but I liked this. Glad Jlo is back cuz she has been having err moments fashion wise.

If nothing else, you have to admit this dress was bold. Vera Farmiga

Cute look for Cameron Diaz

Elizabeth Banks

WORST DRESSED

All personal feelings aside, when will this woman realise that she is 40 and why does she always look bloated? She needs to know her body and dress accordingly.

I did not like this dress at all at all. Zoe Saldana

I'm really wondering what Charlize was thinking and why her stylist didn't talk her out of it.

Tattered Bronzed Mess, Mrs Kutcher

You can be pregnant and cute, this wasn't working for me, Paula Patton

EXTRAS
The dress isn't terrible but I don't seem to love it as much as the fashionistas did.

She looked pretty but Monique has done much better in other award shows.

Gabourey Sidibe said: "If fashion was porn, this will be the money shot" as she twirled for the camera. What y'all think? Did her stylists finally get it right?

I like the color but this was not the business...

Look familiar? Looks like it was cut from the same cloth as Jlo's dress. Amanda Seyfried

Happy Wednesday yall.

My Oscar report card

Just in case anyone wanted to check how I did. These were my predictions. I was wrong on the Best picture part only because I went with my sentimental gut, to be fair I did mention that the Academy would probably give it to Hurt Locker. Oh well, have a good week people.

Hollywood TidBits

Dang, it's been a minute yo..sorry to anyone who follows. I kept racking my brain for something to talk about but all it could come up with was sleep, but there's been a bit of gist going on in hollywood, so I thought I'd keep y'all updated.

-First of all when they say death comes in threes they weren't lying. First off, child star of the show "Growing Pains" was found dead hanging from a tree in a Vancouver park after they'd been searching for him for some time. Apparently he took his own life. Then over the weekend, Marie Osmond's 18 year old son after committing suicide by jumping out his apartment building, he suffered from depression and finally there is a reality show called Ax Men on the History Channel. Well the four year old daughter of the star died this weekend after being mauled by the family dog, a Rottweiler(how awful is that? this doesn't help my fear of dogs). RIP to all the departed and I wish comfort to all their family.

-Ok enough sad news, in "wowiwoulddoanythingforattentionnews", Kim Zolciak from Real Housewives of Atlanta has decided that she is a gay and is dating a dj. See pic below (why was i just focusing on the fat by her 'pits?)

- For parties interested, the Oscars are on Sunday. This is your reminder.

- Christina Milian don born pikin for The Dream.

- Is it just me or is Amber Rose preggers?

- NAACP Awards (or as long as you are black you are guaranteed a nomination) was on Friday. I thought Jill Scott looked really good.

I think that's all i got. Anyone looking to boost their music library, check out my guest sting on #Music Monday - http://intern-unpaid.blogspot.com/2010/03/hauntingly-beautiful-songs-by-taynement.html

Have a lovely week!

I'm in a lyric-y mood

....and I don't want to fall in love cuz boys and girls play wicked games.

The world was on fire and no one could save me but you.
It's strange what desire will make foolish people do.
I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you.
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you.

No, I don't want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart)
No, I don't want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart)
With you (This world is only gonna break your heart)

What a wicked game to play, to make me feel this way.
What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you.
What a wicked thing to say, you never felt this way.
What a wicked thing to do, to make me dream of you and,

I want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart)
No, I want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart)
With you.

These are a few of my favorite....

...naija songs at the moment(lol RR, have you clicked out yet?) Some of these songs are not new but I thought I'd share incase anyone was looking to update their library. Oh and if you don't like songs in yoruba you might not like this list.

This song is so catchy. I was on the fence when I first heard it but now I like it. I like the way she dances and there is one fine guy in her video.

Justina - Omo 2 Sexy
">

I LOVE this song. I can't listen to the original anymore. Imagine my surprise when I found out the guest artist isn't Nigerian. I was doing my usual search for music on google when I ran into his name. I'm like huh, a nigerian hit big time and noone knew? Then I read up on him, he is actually signed to Interscope. I still didn't believe, had to confirm from main source and lo and behold it was true. He heard the song and liked it. See, small by small a nigerian will become a household name.

Banky W ft Verse Simmons - Strong Thing Remix

The sound isn't really clear but this is from the dude that gave us Koni Koni Love.

Klever Jay - Igboro ti Daru

This is my current favorite Naija song and I don't even like him like that:

Timaya - Plantain Boy

Don't count him out just yet oh:

Tuface - Implication

Even though he didn't do this beat he did the original but Don Jazzy is a beast man. I didn't have high hopes for Dr Sid but now I am convinced.

Dr Sid - Something about you remix

Banky's protegee and EME representing, you have heard him on M.I's album and on Banky's Tanker. His album is still in the works but I like this single:

Wizkid - Holla at your boy

Very well produced video, thought it was a spoof at first but I got on the band wagon and liked it. If you haven't heard it yet, you are probably the only one:

Maye Hunta - Ekaette

">

Hot song DaGrin - Kondo
">

Producer turned singer, I shouldn't have put this last.

Terry G - Testing Microphone

Extras:

Another EME artist, Scales - Heading for a grammy
Klever Jay - Tomato (love this)
Dekumzy ft Desperate chicks - Dat tin (igbo song)
Silver Saddih - Konko Jabele
Lami - Know
AY.com ft Timaya - Pass me your love remix

I'll stop here, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Oscar Predictions

Hey guys, I came in here wanting to drop my grammy tidbits but its been 2 days and I feel like it's already stale gist and I am still miffed that my Gaga didn't get any televised awards. So to make up for that here is a montage of her outfits:

Check out that wax job in the middle:

And this was my best dressed for the night:

And somebody give me what she is having, but JHud looks good:

-------------------------------------------

Ok I digressed.Sooooo Oscar noms are out and is my yearly tradition, I shall make my predictions and you can come back and congratulate or laught at me. You can check out my 2009 predictions here and within that one my 2008 is in it.Here we go:

Best Picture:
Best Motion Picture of the Year
Avatar
The Blind Side
District 9
An Education
The Hurt Locker
Inglourious Basterds
Precious
A Serious Man
Up
Up in the Air

First of all upping the movies from 5 to 10 is pretty stupid and wow am I surprised Blind Side was in the list, although I really enjoyed it sha. So, personally Inglorious Basterds should win but I am on the fence, they just might give it to The Hurt Locker, it's more their speed than Inglorious. Don't ask me to choose now. I will update closer to time, but for posterity sake I will stick with my heart and say Inglorious Basterds.

Achievement in Directing:
James Cameron, Avatar
Kathryn Bigelow, The Hurt Locker
Quentin Tarantino, Inglourious Basterds
Lee Daniels, Precious
Jason Reitman, Up in the Air

I have watched all these movies.Cameron is Bigelow's ex husband. Cameron made a huge splash with Avatar but something tells me this Oscar is going to Bigelow, she'll be only the 5th(don't quote me) woman to be nominated abi is it win? Personally, Lee Daniels deserves it but he is black, no chance in hell :D

Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role:
Jeff Bridges, Crazy Heart
George Clooney, Up in the Air
Colin Firth, A Single Man
Morgan Freeman, Invictus
Jeremy Renner, The Hurt Locker

No argument Jeff Bridges got this. Morgan Freeman and everyone from Invictus is a waste of nomination(ok I am exaggerating). If we have an Adrien Brody ie the year Adrien won for The Pianist instead of Jack Nicholson for "About Schmidt" like everyone thought then it will be Mr Jeremy Renner who robs Bridges of an Oscar.

Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role:
Matt Damon, Invictus
Woody Harrelson, The Messenger
Christopher Plummer, The Last Station
Stanley Tucci, The Lovely Bones
Christoph Waltz, Inglourious Basterds

Christoph Waltz for the win!..My second would be Woody Harrelson, I really liked The Messenger. I digress, Waltz perfomance was the first I saw and said to myself, "that is a nomination for sure". The only other person I felt that way about was Penelope Cruz for Vicky Christina Barcelona(and I can't stand her)...and she won.

Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role:
Sandra Bullock, The Blind Side
Helen Mirren, The Last Station
Carey Mulligan, An Education
Gabourey Sidibe, Precious
Meryl Streep, Julie & Julia

Yea did someone say Julia Roberts for Erin Brockovich? Indeed, Ms Bullock will be taking this just because she has great momentum and a back story. But really, noone and I say NOONE did a better job than Meryl Streep in Julie and Julia hands down. She just scored her 16th nom (most noms scored by a woman). All the women here are deserving sha. You guys should check out An Education, I enjoyed it.

Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role:
Penélope Cruz, Nine
Vera Farmiga, Up in the Air
Maggie Gyllenhaal, Crazy Heart
Anna Kendrick, Up in the Air
Mo'Nique, Precious

Hooray affirmative action! I keed, Monique got this and its deserving. Nothing else to say really.

Okay that's it, the rest are the snoozefests, as usual nothing surprising really, the suspense will be for best picture and best director. Feel free to leave comments and make your own predictions. Have a good day!

Got Milk?

I love, lurve, lurve Christina Hendricks on Mad Men, her character is soo...woman. Apparently, she wants to remind us that she is all woman in real life. She has a hot bod, curves and all. Here she is at the Director's Guild Awards:

With her hubby:

Who looks like this after giving birth 4 weeks ago? Matthew McConaughey's baby mama, Camilla Alves

In other news, Grammys are tomorrow, who is watching? I don't like the grammys I think they are boring, but part of my disease involves watching ALL award shows and also Lady Gaga will be opening with Elton(hey yesterday was National Lady Gaga day)AND tomorrow is my boo's birthday. Oh yea, Justin Timberlake is my boo. I'll be back on my take on the grammys...I think.

Happy Evening!

Mary J Blige looking okay, I feel she could have done better.

Taraji P Henson - I can't decide, yay or nay?

Tatyana Ali - I never like her look, but this is really pretty

Not quite sure what's going on with Rihanna
